Kids can gather up their poles, bait and tackles and head over to Lake Poway for the El Cajon Ford Youth Fishing Derby.
The Derby goes from sunrise to noon and is free for youth 15 and under.
This free youth derby is sponsored by the City of Poway, El Cajon Ford, Barona Band of Mission Indians and Friends of Rollo.

A free BBQ lunch will be provided afterwards.
The awards ceremony will begin shortly after 1 p.m., with a raffle and prizes for age-division winners. Grand prizes will also be awarded for the Kid’s Greatest Fishing Story Contest.

*Please note: Lake Poway will close for fishing and boating Feb. 1-3. Parents are encouraged to assist children during the tournament, but will not be permitted to fish. Motor boats will only be rented to the parent/guardian of a Youth Fishing Derby participant and are available for pre-sale during business hours at the Lake Poway Grill and Tackle.
