Go Green This Earth Day at Pomerado Hospital

Palomar Health is hosting a special Earth Day event this week.

Have you ever celebrated Earth Day before? If you’re not exactly sure how to celebrate the green day, Palomar Health is having a special event that will teach you what Earth Day is all about.

On Friday, the community can visit Pomerado Hospital for an Earth Day Celebration. Palomar Health is holding their second annual . The day will showcase Palomar’s comprehensive sustainability program.

The public can visit the outdoor pavilion behind Pomerado Hospital for some games, live entertainment and even prizes. Attendees can expect:

  • SDG&E representatives will be present to show consumers various ways to save energy.
  • Poway water district officials will be available to discuss water conservation.
  • A Chevy Volt hybrid will be on display, giving people an opportunity to learn about the unique electric/gasoline-powered car and the technology behind it.
  • Garden of Eden Organics will be taking signups for its Farmers Market co-op.

Earth Day had its birth about 40 years ago after a giant oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara raised concerns about the environment. Since then, it’s become a worldwide movement that focuses on keeping the planet’s health and environment in tip-top shape.
