Poway's Spooky Halloween Event Guide

Halloween is quickly approaching and Poway has some frightening and fun festivities for those who love the black and orange holiday. Check out the list below for Halloween happenings in town and pick the one (or two!) that best fit your family and have a spooktacular weekend!

HALLOWEEN HAPPENING IN TOWN

The Poway Chapter National Charity League is throwing a Halloween carnival for Powegians. Visit our , located at 13137 Poway Rd., this Sunday at 1 p.m. for a haunted hallway, face painting, carnival games and more. Kids can come in their costumes and get some extra wear out of them before you take them out the next night. This event is free.

Kids can have fun without the parents and vice versa. It’s Parent’s Night out at , located at 12621 Poway Rd., this Saturday. Parents can get out and join some alone time before they have to take the kids trick-or-treating and kids ages 5-17 can wear their costumes and dance, play some games, do some Halloween activities and enjoy a slice or two of pizza. Pre-register your kids so you can all enjoy a night away by calling 858-679-8277. Kids cost $15 each, with a discount available for siblings.

Stray away from the spook and instead celebrate Halloween with your family. This Halloween event, sponsored by the Old Poway Park Action Committee will include a Halloween Express train, pumpkin carving contest, costume parade, children’s games, readings from Edgar Allan Poe and some sweet treats. Most activities are free, excluding the food and the train. Want to participate in the old fashioned fun? Visit , at 14134 Midland Rd. # A, on Sunday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

This Halloween event is family-friendly and helps out a good cause. is holding its annual Monster Mash, which raises funds for the Midland Educational Foundation. Families can pay $2 to get in and spend Friday night getting into the Halloween spirit. Dress your kids up in their costume for a carnival with games, food, photo booth, music, cake walk, and a haunted house that’s elementary age appropriate. The fun goes from 4-7 p.m. at the elementary school.

The is holding a craft fair and fall festival. Take the kids for some Halloween activities in the pre-school yard and shop around for Christmas gifts at the various craft and jewelry vendors. There will also be a bake sale and soup available for purchase in the café. It’s like celebrating two holidays in one! Want to give your child a Halloween experience while you get some work done? Visit the church, located at 13501 Community Rd., on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is free.
