Jacob "Jake" Taylor is a sports writer and columnist in San Diego county for Patch.com.

A native San Diegan, Jake enjoys long walks on the beach with his dog Bonnie and currently tunes into ESPN 24/7. His favorite television show is "Pardon the Interruption" on ESPN and he's known among his friends as the sports trivia guru. Although they're having an off season, Jake never misses a Chargers game. A highlight of his life was having box seats to a Padres game and meeting the President of the team.

Previously a sports broadcaster for KIEM in Humboldt County, an NBC affiliate, Jake has covered football, basketball, baseball, swimming, volleyball, soccer, and trap shooting, just to name a few. A lifelong athlete and an NCAA competitor in soccer at Humboldt State University, he's practiced his fare share too. In August of 2010, Jake Taylor was awarded "Sports Instructor of the Year" by the YMCA Youth and Family Services PrimeTime program in San Diego. Jacob also has experience in radio broadcasting, where he hosted the local evening tunes for KRFH.net, 610 AM, in Arcata, CA.
