It also supplies tackle, rods, reels and fishing apparel from brands like: Shimano, Berkely, Seaguar, Fluttercraft and Roboworm.

Owners Frank and Jeanne Pasalich, a husband-and-wife team, are lifelong Poway residents who have been in the fishing and lure-making business since 1990. They manufacture plastic baits and lures onsite. Fisherman's Outpost stays connected with community events like the Poway Lake Fishing Derby and hosts the Ramona Bass Club meetings in the store once a month.

Blue Sky Ecological Reserve

The Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, adjacent to Lake Poway,  is home to three hiking trails and a unique naturalMore habitat with gorgeous wildflowers. The three trails include: the Green Valley Truck Trail (1.2 miles), the Creekside Trail (0.2 miles) and the Lake Poway Trail (0.9 miles).

Special events such as Owl Prowls, Insects at Night, and Hoot, Howl and Prowl also are popular with guests.

The Blue Sky Ecological Reserve was devastated by the 2007 Witch Creek fire and is still recovering.
