Start Smart, Summer Movies in the Park and City Jobs
Your Monday Essentials is a glance at the week ahead in Poway the week of Aug. 12-18.
- Are you a parent of a teen driver? The Start Smart Program is hosted by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and will offer a two class for new teen drivers and their parents or guardians. The class will discuss consequences of distracted or impaired driving, collision prevention, teen drinking and driving and more. Start Smart will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Poway High School. Registration is required online.
- PowPAC, Poway's Community Theatre will present The Sugar Bean Sisters. General Admission is $18 and seniors/students/military is $15. Showings are 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug. 17; 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18.
- It's not too early to plan for the weekend! Summer Movies in the Park will feature a movie showing of Hotel Transylvania. Bring your popcorn and picnic blankets 15 minutes after dusk on Saturday, Aug. 17 to Poway Community Park.
- Blues, Country and Rock, oh my! Line up of concerts for 2013-2014 include Robert Cray, Roger McGuinn & Marty Stuart with the Fabulous Superlatives, Blind Boys of America and more. Tickets are available online, calling 858-748-0505 or at the box office.
