Monday Essentials: Fall, Futbol and the Farmers Market

See what you need to know this week, including a forecast, details about the Chargers and new hours for the farmers market.

The season officially switched to fall over the weekend, but nobody will blame you if you didn't notice. It doesn't quite feel like fall in Poway, and it won't for the rest of this week.

Here's a look at a few things to know for the upcoming week:

  • Fall? Poway temperatures Monday and Tuesday are expected to be in the mid-to upper-80s, followed by mid-70s highs on Wednesday and Thursday before things warm up heading into the weekend.
  • Chargers Fútbol: The Chargers seem to be up to the usual this season, giving hope and then dashing it at the last second. The last-minute loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday—during which quarterback Philip Rivers kicked the ball in a desperation move—was a tough one for Chargers fans. Next up for the Bolts are the Dallas Cowboys, who are 2-1 on the season to the home team's 1-2. The game is set to kick off at 1:25 p.m. Sunday at Qualcomm.
  • Farmers Market Moves: The Old Poway Park Farmers Market starts with its new hours (8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays) and location (Midland Road) this weekend. Drivers will be detoured around the market from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can check out fresh food from 45 local farms, plus drop in shops and learn about Poway's history. Get more info here.
