SENDING OUT AN ‘SOS’
The Poway Unified School District Foundation needs your help to support teachers and students now through the end of the year. The Supply Our Schools project is collecting supplies like paper, pencils, pens and dry erase markers, staplers, calculators and office supply gift cards for distribution to area schools, not only in Poway, but in Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Sabre Springs, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos, Del Sur and Santaluz.
You can specify a specific school by attaching the school name to the donation. Supplies may be dropped off at a variety of local businesses. In addition, the owners of Carpet Country Flooring will donate a percentage of proceeds from the sale of flooring to the program and Herndon & Herndon will donate a portion of their real estate commissions. The list of drop-off locations and more is attached.
PADRES PARTNER WITH THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
For the third year in a row, the Charitable Partnership Program, an initiative that allows the San Diego Padres to make an impact on participating organizations and their missions, has chosen The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego as one of their 11 select charities that the Padres and Padres Foundation will partner with during the 2012 season. It provides the team with an opportunity to educate fans on the terrific things these organizations do for the community. Save the date: Padres/BGCGSD Home Stand Week is May 16-20.
