Williams Syndrome Walkers Will Take Over Old Poway Park

The benefit is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, beginning at 9 a.m.

WALK FOR WILLIAMS SYNDROME

The San Diego Walk for Williams Syndrome is Saturday, May 12, and this year it’s coming to . Williams Syndrome is a genetic condition, present at birth, that effects 1 in 10,000 people worldwide. It is characterized by medical problems including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays and learning disabilities. Costly medical care is not always covered by insurance and state funding.

Local high school student Barry Cunningham was diagnosed at age 1. Now at 18, he is an outspoken advocate that WS is about what “can be” and not what will “never be.” Join Barry and others on May 12. The Poway Lacrosse team is raising money for their season. Dine at in Poway tonight after 5 p.m. and 20 percent of your bill will go to the Poway Lacrosse Foundation.
