What's Happening in Poway this Weekend

Sunday's Spring Festival isn't the only thing going on in Poway this weekend.

While the wet, windy weather may make it tempting to stay in bed, curled under the covers all weekend, don’t let Monday arrive without getting out to at least one of the many things to do Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday starts off with , when volunteers get their hands dirty cleaning and fixing up parks, trails, schools and anything else that needs attention. Sign up is at 8 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 12988 Bowron Rd.

Spring flowers will be in full bloom Saturday in Old Poway Park for the , running from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Displays will include succulents, roses, annuals, perennials, orchids, fruits, and nuts and berries. While in the park you’ll be able to take a train ride aboard the historic 1907 Baldwin Steam Engine, tour the museum, or take a stroll through the Farmers Market and the Boardwalk Craft Market.

At the Poway Library, will play a solo set Saturday as part of Acoustic Showcase, a series of shows held at libraries around the county. The free show starts at 2 p.m.

Sunday is street fair day in Poway, with the taking over Midland Road between Poway Road and Hilleary Place. Live music, lots of food and a variety of vendors that will have something for everyone.
