Start the Year on All Cylinders

January tends to be the busiest month of the year in the auto repair business. Get a jump on everyone else and help at the same time. When you take your car to anytime between now and the end of December, 10 percent of your bill will go to the school. Just present the flier to the right.  

Maybe you don't need that car anymore. Consider donating it to Charitable Auto Resources, Inc. and proceeds from the donated vehicle will benefit Poway High's photography program. Get more details here. 

Reaching for the Stars

Tierra Bonita Educational Foundation, the nonprofit established to raise classroom standards in Science, Technology, Arts and Reading, has set a date for the annual “S.T.A.R.S” dinner and auction. It will be held in the Del Lago Ballroom at Maderas Golf Resort on Feb. 5. Tickets are $75 per person. You can also sponsor attendance for a favorite teacher or staff member. The Foundation is still in need of auction items, underwriting and donations. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities exist for local businesses. Visit its website for more information.

Patch is hosting a Christmas lights and decorations contest called “Deck the House”, and you can help the PUSD win big! From now through December 26, nominate your home by uploading a photo. If you're judged to be one of 26 national finalists, you'll receive $500 to put toward your electric bill. The ultimate grand prize winner's school district will receive $100,000!
