Poway Spirit Day to be Held on April 14

Plan to give back at the sixth annual event.

Save the Date for Spirit Day

The sixth annual Poway Spirit Day is April 14. Originally created in the Poway Community Leadership Institute (PCLI), and adopted by the Rotary Club of Poway four years ago, the event attracted nearly 200 volunteers last year who cleared trails, painted, pruned branches and spread mulch from to and the .

The work is especially important this year considering the city's budget issues. We all benefit from taking action to keep Poway looking like the city we're so proud of. The city has identified trails and park areas their personnel have difficulty reaching with equipment and the kind of manpower this event draws will ensure these areas receive the maintenance they need. It’s a great time for young people to earn service hours, for scouts, church groups, families and anyone who wants to get involved. We'll start at 8 a.m. from the and end with a BBQ at noon. If you can volunteer, contact me directly at transamericabill@gmail.com.
