Poway Rotary Gives Back: Students Get Needed School Supplies

Local students in need get backpacks full of school supplies.

School is back in session and The Rotary Club of Poway has been busy delivering backpacks filled with supplies to area elementary school children in need. It has and continues to be an annual project for the Poway club and others in the area. Principal Andy Johnson commented when Jim-Tom Cavanaugh and I delivered to Valley Elementary that it’s surprising how many kids show up for the first day of class without basic necessities. On our list this year were Valley, Garden Road Elementary, Pomerado and the New Alternatives Foster Family Agency.
