Hear former local TV anchor Susan Lee Taylor discuss the state of healthcare, finish Chelsea's run, and bring your pet to support the Escondido Humane Society.

By Bill Stoudenmire

Former NBC San Diego television news anchor Susan Lee Taylor gives a humorous account of her transition from her long-time TV career to, now, Executive Director of External Affairs for Scripps Health.

At Wednesday's meeting of the Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps, she'll discuss the current state of healthcare and new technologies, lead by a partnering of Scripps Health and Qualcomm, and how they will drive down costs to patients.

Finish Chelsea's Run

Save the date for the 4th annual Finish Chelsea's Run 5K in honor of Chelsea King.

It's scheduled for Saturday, March 1, and this year it's in partnership with Girl Scouts San Diego. Again this year it will take place in Balboa Park where Chelsea loved to visit and where she practiced with the San Diego Youth Symphony.

The event will feature a competitive 5K race as well as a fun walk/run, family festival, children's activities, team competition, entertainment and refreshments.

The annual walk/run is a primary fundraiser for the Chelsea's Light Sunflower Scholarship fund, which, last year, provided over $70,000 in Sunflower scholarships to 10 amazing college-bound students, who have embraced characteristics that embody Chelsea's academic prowess and service-over-self ethic. EHS is an independent nonprofit organization that depends on animal-lovers like you to support their work.
