San Diego Hippotherapy is looking for some good volunteers! For those of you not familiar with our program, San Diego Hippotherapy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) in Ramona. We are the only PATH International Premier Accredited Center in San Diego County, and have been providing hippotherapy and therapeutic riding to children and adults since 2001.

We are losing several volunteers who are going back to work or heading off to college this fall, and we can't do our sessions without helpers! The primary volunteer responsibilities during sessions are leading the horses (experienced horse people only) and sidewalking (walking at the side of the horse for safety and to help with client positioning if needed - no horse experience necessary). Volunteers also assist in grooming, etc., on session days. Volunteers in sessions must be at least 14 years old, and capable of walking at a good pace in the arena for up to half an hour at a time.  Our fall quarter sessions begin September 10th, and we will be setting up new volunteer trainings between now and then depending on volunteer availability.

For more information on our program, please check our website www.sandiegohippotherapy.org or our facebook page (under San Diego Hippotherapy: Equine-Facilitated Therapy), or contact us at sandiegohippotherapy@cox.net or (760)440-0286.
