Dedicated to helping local children, the Kiwanis Club of Poway is hosting a unique event called Holidays with Heroes. It will take place at the Poway on Dec. 7 from 5–8 p.m. A select group of Poway youngsters will shop the store for family gifts with the help of an adult hero: firemen, policemen, sports celebrity, military person and other volunteers. When the buying is done the kids will wrap gifts, decorate cookies, sing and dance, visit with Santa and more. Here's the link to Poway Kiwanis' website. Volunteers are needed to organize and participate.
