Family Night Out: Swim-In Movie on Saturday
PG-rated "Puss in Boots" will be screened poolside from at the Poway Community Swim Center.
Drive-in movie theaters were a favorite of families looking for an affordable night out, as mom and dad could take in a movie while the kids could roam around under the stars.
Now that drive-ins have mostly disappeared, families have a new outdoor movie option, one that replaces the parking lot with a swimming pool.
the Poway Community Swim Center is hosting a swim-in movie, featuring 2011’s animated “Puss in Boots.” A screen will be set up at one end of the pool, and people can float around on rafts, boogie boards and inner tubes as they watch the move. Bleachers will provide seating for those not in the mood for a swim.

The party begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Admission is $3 for kids and seniors, $4 for adults and $12 for families of five or fewer.
“Puss in Boots” is rated PG and features the voices of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis
