Night Fishing at Lake Poway Begins July 6

Pack your flashlights! Night fishing is back at Lake Poway.

Beginning July 6, fishers in Poway will have to stick an extra item inside their tackle box–a flashlight!

Night fishing starts up again at Lake Poway the beginning of July so aficionados can get their fish fix late into the night. Boating will be open at the local lake from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., with shoreline fishing lasting until 11:30 p.m.

Lake Poway will be stocked with 9,250 pounds of blue catfish and channel catfish at various intervals, including 1,500 pounds on July 6. See the stocking schedule for the rest of the summer online.

Daily (including nights!) catfish catch limit is five.

Ready to tackle the fish at Lake Poway during the long summer nights? Night fishing runs from July 6-Sept. 8. A day permit for an adult at Lake Poway is $6, with seniors and youth getting in for just $3. Military rates are $4 per day. If you plan on spending most of your summer nights out on the boat, spring for a 10-day pass ($28). Boat rentals can also be made at the lake.
