Legoland's Pirate Reef Now Open

Prepare to get soaked on this multi-million-dollar new ride in Carlsbad.

Pirate Reef at includes a 25-foot plunge, 223,000 Lego bricks used to create 30 pirate-themed models, and lots of water.

Guests have several chances to get wet. Of course when they’re on the ride, but when they exit there are water cannons to aim at one another. Crossing the bridge also means risking getting drenched again.

Legoland General Manager Peter Ronchetti said, “This is an amazing addition to our rapidly growing resort, and I’m excited to see our guests’ reactions when they get to experience Pirate Reef for the first time this Memorial Day weekend.”

Legoland guarantees guests will get soaks when splashing down at 26 miles per hour.
