The San Diego Chargers will play their last game of the season Sunday amid even more rumors about who will be leading the franchise next year—and years to come.
The fates of General Manager A.J. Smith and Head Coach Norv Turner have been determined, according to media reports, with both headed out the door following Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
Adding fuel to the fire is a story NFL.com published Saturday that reports Chargers Chairman and President Dean Spanos will have his duties taken over by his son John Spanos in “a few years.” John Spanos is currently director of college scouting for the Chargers, and his brother A.G. Spanos handles the business side of the team as CEO.
Family patriarch Alex Spanos, Dean’s father, bought the team in 1984, and Dean has been in charge of football operations since 1994.
