Padres to Play Dodgers in 2012 Season Opener

San Diego releases its schedule for next season, with the Angels, Rangers and Mariners visiting for interleague play.

The San Diego Padres announced on Wednesday that they will open their 2012 season with a four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers beginning April 5 at Petco Park.

The Padres will then host the Arizona Diamondbacks—the National League West division leaders so far this year—for three games before going on the road.

The season will conclude with home series against the Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, followed by three games at Milwaukee against the Brewers—the NL Central leaders this season—which would be important if the Padres are contending for the division title at this time next year.
