Train Song Festival - The Age of Steam

Embark on an adventure back in time to the age of steam!  Come join us at Old Poway Park for a FREE, unique opportunity to celebrate turn-of-the-century innocations, learn about train history, enjoy the sweet sounds of railroad music, and picnic in the park.  The City of Poway, The Hamburger Factory, and the Old Poway Park Action Committee proudly present the annual Train Song Festival - The Age of Steam on Saturday, April 28, from noon to 8:00 p.m. 

The daylong event will feature live musical entertainment and storytellers inspired by the history and culture surrounding trains and railroads.  Explore the train yard of the Poway Midland Railroad or enjoy the small ride-on steam engines, model-A cars, and steam fire engine.  For a nominal fee, board Old Cantankerous, the 1907 Baldwin Steam Engine and enjoy chugging through the old Wild West.  Watch out for train robberies and encounters with western gunslingers!  Learn to play the banjo and other instruments in the frontier musician camp where even the inexperienced westerner can carry a tune.  Observe the marevels of miniature trains as they travel through villages, farms, and open countryside, and be perpared to meet fictional Victorian Era characters.  Experience the American Arts and Crafts movement at the Boardwalk Craft Market or purchase food for sale.
