Wells Fargo is honoring Poway Unified's Martin Reisert, theCalifornia Teacher of the Year, all month on its thousands of ATMs across the state.

“At Wells Fargo, we believe it’s important to celebrate great teachers who encourage, support and inspire the students they teach in our community,” Brian Lee, regional president for Wells Fargo in North San Diego, said in a statement. “We congratulate Martin and thank all of our teachers for their service. Our entire community benefits from their work, and we want to show our appreciation by honoring one of California’s best.”

Reisert teaches sixth grade science and social studies at Oak Valley Middle School and was named one of the five California Teachers of the Year after receiving similar recognition at the school, district and county levels. He has spoken about struggling as a student and having his life changed by educators who took the time to help him.

To honor him, Wells Fargo will feature his picture and information about his accomplishments on most of its 3,301 ATMs throughout September.
