PUSD Recommends Amy Smith-Richardson for New Morning Creek Elementary Principal

Smith-Richardson currently serves as assistant principal of Stone Ranch Elementary School.

The Poway Unified School District (PUSD) announced they are endorsing Amy Smith- Richardson as principal for Morning Creek Elementary School. 

The selection will be recommended to the Poway Unified School District Board of Education for approval at its Aug. 19 meeting, the district said.

“Amy is a thoughtful and enthusiastic educator who focuses on helping all students succeed," PUSD Superintendent John Collins said. "Her leadership experience and ideas definitely support our District’s goal of college and career readiness.”

Currently serving as assistant principal of Stone Ranch Elementary School, Smith-Richardson worked in the Clark County (Las Vegas) School District’s Special Education Department for 12 years.

“I am excited to be given this opportunity to be part of the Morning Creek community," Smith-Richardson said. "I look forward to working with our staff and families to meet the needs of all students. I come with an extensive background in creating positive behavior support systems to ensure both academic and behavior success."
