Poway's Steele an ESPN Rise First-Team All-State Choice

Teammate Angie Randazzo, Ramona shortstop Lexi Slater are third-team selections.

Poway High senior shortstop Haley Steele, named the CIF San Diego Section softball player of the year last month, has added another honor.  The Arizona State-bound four-year starter has been named to the ESPN Rise first-team all-state team.

Another Titan softball standout, catcher Angie Randazzo, was selected for the third team, as was Ramona High shortstop Lexi Slater and Escondido catcher Kayla Wartner.

Steele hit .487 and drove in 35 runs to help the Titans to a 25-7 record and a berth in the San Diego Section Division I title game, where Poway fell to Grossmont High.
