Poway Unified to Hold End-of-Year Workshop, Special Meeting Vote

The vote includes a vote on hour reductions for two classified positions, and the elimination of two others.

The Poway Unified School District board has scheduled a special meeting Tuesday morning to vote on classified staff changes and conduct a self-evaluation amid a year-end review.

The special meeting and year-end workshop is set for 8 a.m. Tuesday at the district office, 15250 Avenue of Science, San Diego.

The proposed staff changes include cutting an instructional assistant position at Sunset Hills Elementary School and a special education sign language interpreter, and reducing the hours of a music assistant at Rancho Bernardo High School and an instructional assistant at Sunset Hills.

The workshop portion of the meeting includes:  

  • End-of-Year Report on Division Goals
  • Review of Recommended Policy and Procedures for Facilities Financing
  • Board Self-Evaluation
