Don't Let Your Home Get Burnt Up

As an executive in the construction industry, I am aware of the latest changes and advances in roofing technologies. And as a student of San Diegos history, Ive seen that old shake roofs and poor implementation of defensible space have been key factors to the major fires of yesterday. Problem is that the fires in 2003 came again in 2007. We learned that government would let us down by underfunding fire and police and not implementing common sense changes that would spare us from the devastation in 2007. So we, as involved citizens, must figure this out for ourselves and tell our government what must be done. That being said, government can create a business friendly climate by working with local construction firms employing local citizens to create a price friendly, budget friendly opportunity for roof replacements from shake roofs to modern fire resistant roofs. Through this we spare ourselves and the City and County from property damage such that our insurance costs remain low and our homes remain intact. In this, we create jobs, facilitate commerce and get government doing what it can do best-- create connections that facilitate a prosperous and fire safe community.
