Poway girls volleyball team `Serving up a Cure' for diabetes

A girls volleyball team at the Epic Volleyball Club, 13955 Stowe Dr. in Poway, will host a fundraiser called “Serving up a Cure,” benefiting the American Diabetes Association’s San Diego chapter, starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 26. The public is invited to attend.

The fundraiser will feature the 17-year-olds team serving volleyballs continually until each girl hits various targets. The fundraiser on March 26 is part of the team’s commitment to participate in the Lone Star National Qualifier tournament, April 19-21, in Dallas. The tournament has selected the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as its philanthropy.

Checks can be made payable to the American Diabetes Association (tax ID number is 13-1623888). For more information about the fundraiser, call the ADA San Diego office at (619)234-9897, ext. 7433.
