Readers’ Choice: Poway Irish Pub

It was a close call between and Lounge in Poway Patch’s poll asking readers for the best place to toast St. Patrick’s Day.

But there’s no place like an Irish pub on St. Patty’s Day, and readers chose Poway Irish Pub as the place for a pint.

But there a plenty of other choices in Poway on what is shaping up to be a very soggy holiday. One of the county’s premier Irish musicians will be playing at Saturday. Eamon Carroll is the house musician at The Field in downtown San Diego, but Saturday he’ll be in Poway, playing Irish favorites beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The kitchen will be swamped with orders for corned beef and cabbage and the Guinness will be flowing all night. Company Pub will have designated drivers available to drive people home, a great idea that hopefully will catch on with other establishments.
