Poway City Council to Meet Tuesday Night

Items on the agenda include a proposed trash-collection fee increase and the sale of a city-owned property.

The Poway City Council is scheduled to hear an update on Palomar Health from Michael Covert, president and CEO, and David Tam, chief administrative officer of Pomerado Hospital, at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Also on the agenda is a proposed adjustment to the rate EDCO charges Poway residents and businesses for trash collection. The monthly rate for a 95-gallon cart for residents would go up $.49 to $20.60, and the rate for a commercial bin collected once a week would rise $2.61 to $104.61.

The council will also consider approving the sale of city-owned property on Poway Road that served as the location of Community Services staff for years before City Hall was built, according to a staff report. The property at 13202 Poway Road includes a 2,380-square-foot building that was built in 1975 and is in good shape. It has been vacant for around two years, and the city has no plans to use it or lease it.
