Golf Course’s Use of Groundwater on City Council Agenda

A consultant would analyze the impacts Maderas Golf Club has on area groundwater.

Food trucks and groundwater will be among the items discussed when the Poway City Council meets Tuesday night.

The council will consider hiring a consultant to analyze the groundwater conditions surrounding Maderas Golf Club. Several studies have been conducted how the pumping of groundwater by Maderas has affected the water levels in the area, and city staff has recommended bringing in an objective third-party to analyze the data and provide an environmental assessment.

Also on the agenda is an ordinance that would amend the Poway Municipal Code following the county's decision to extend inspection and ratings programs to food trucks. The familiar cards found in restaurant windows displaying letter grades will be seen on food trucks as well.
