County Hangs 'We Will Remember' Banner to Commemorate 9/11

The banner also hangs in honor of those killed in the attacks including Powegian Robert Penninger.

A 32-foot tall banner bearing the image of the American flag and the words "We Will Remember'' was hung on the tower of the County Administration Building Friday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

San Diego County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Ron Roberts organized the re-hanging of the banner to honor those killed—including Powegian Robert Penninger—in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon as well as those killed on Flight 93, where passengers fought back against the hijackers before the plane crashed in Shanksville, Pa.

The banner, which was originally displayed on the first anniversary of the attacks, will remain on the building until Sept. 15.
