City Names New Director of Community Services

Robin Bettin, who comes from Escondido, has been appointed to the position.

The city of Poway has appointed a new director of community services, it was announced Wednesday.

Robin Bettin, who served as an assistant director of community services in Escondido, replaces Dena Fuentes, who resigned from the position in February.

In a statement, City Manager Penny Riley praised Bettin's experience.

“Robin Bettin is well-known in the San Diego region as an exceptional manager with a vast range of experience in the field of Community Services," she stated. "Robin will offer the Community Services Department excellent leadership and is a welcomed addition to the management team.”

Bettin earned her bachelor's degree in recreation administration from San Diego State University and her master's in management from the University of Redlands. As the director of the department, Bettin will oversee 22 full-time employees and a budget of $4.7 million. Bettin, who will be compensated between the range of $117,816-$143,208 annually, will start on May 2.
