City Council to Discuss 2 Percent Traffic Fee Increase at Tuesday's Meeting

The City Council will also be asked to award two project bids and accept the annual financial report.

The City Council will hold its twice-monthly meeting Tuesday evening with staff recommending approval of a 2 percent fee increase, the awarding of two bids, and acceptance of an annual financial report.

Ten items are on the agenda. The meeting takes place at the City Council Chambers at 7 p.m.

According to the agenda, the City Council will be asked to award bids for two projects. Tri-Group Construction has bid to complete the public facilities upgrade of Poway's three fire stations for $62,855. The project's contract time—which was open to bids on March 1—is 20 days and will include a revamp of walkways, ramps and sidewalks, among other improvements. City staff is also recommending the council award a bid to Anemos Enterprises Inc. for $43,560 to install 31 roof hatches at eight water pump stations throughout Poway. The project is meant to comply with Cal-OSHA regulations.

Last on Tuesday's agenda is the possible adoption of a 2 percent increase in the Regional Transportation Congestion Improvement Program Traffic Fee to cater to roadway improvements. According to the report, the 2 percent hike would mean an increase from $2,081 to $2,123—or $42—per residential unit and is aligned with the TransNet Ordinance.
