City Calls Wednesday Council Meeting for 'Urgency' Medical Marijuana Ordinance

According to the report, City Manager Penny Riley recommends council to approve of the ordinance.

The city of Poway has asked Council members to attend a special Wednesday evening session to approve a medical marijuana-related ordinance.

According to the agenda released Tuesday evening, the City Council will be asked to adopt an interim urgency ordinance to temporarily prohibit the establishment of medical marijuana dispensaries, cooperatives and collectives in the city.

A staff report was not immediately available. According to the agenda, staff will present the report to the City Council on Wednesday.
