It isn't a secret the journalism industry is a tough one to get into, but Anthony Carrasco makes it look easy.
This 16-year-old photojournalist has already seen his credits in major publications including The North County Times and Patch sites.
The Rancho Buena Vista High School student, who also has his own website, said he got into the field for the challenge.
"The challenge to capture that true emotion in my photos is really what got me," he said. "Every photo or assignment has its own adventure, and the journey and difficulties along the way make it interesting and fun."
Carrasco, who is inspired by various people including other photographers, journalists and his family, hopes to one day see his work published in National Geographic.
Advice for young people:
"My biggest piece of advice to other young and budding leaders is persistency. I can't even count how many times someone has said no to me. I have had people tell me to quit what I'm doing because I'm too young and to 'leave it to the pros' but I knew what I wanted to do and wasn't about to let anyone stop me."
