Sycamore Tree Lane House Fire Displaces Poway Family

A structure fire in the 13600 block of Sycamore Tree Lane Wednesday afternoon displaced two adults and two children, according to a sheriff’s deputy.

Approximately 16 homes in the area were evacuated, and a 90-year-old neighbor was transported to Pomerado Hospital due to chest pains, according to Sgt. Greg Rylaarsdam.

The fire was reported at approximately 3:45 p.m. and about seven units responded, including units from Poway Fire, San Diego Fire-Rescue and the Poway Sheriff’s Department, Rylaarsdam said. Smoke was visible throughout the area and 911 received numerous calls about the fire.

The entire inside of the structure is gone, Rylaarsdam said, and the cause is under investigation.

No other information was immediately available.
