Sheriff’s Dept. Searching for Vehicle Vandalism Suspects

Around 20 parked vehicles had their windows broken over the weekend of April 6-8.

Sheriff’s detectives are searching for the culprits responsible for a vandalism spree earlier this month that targeted the windows of parked vehicles in northwest Poway.

During the weekend of April 6-8, the windows of approximately 20 vehicles were damaged by projectiles possibly launched by a slingshot or BB gun, according to Detective Trina Cremans. No items were stolen from the vandalized vehicles.

“The incidents appear to have been done at random, however, they are likely related to each other,” Cremans wrote in an email to Poway Patch.

According to sheriff’s incident reports, vehicles parked on streets north of Poway Road, in between Pomerado Road and Community Road, were damaged that weekend. A partial list of vehicles appeared in the .

Cremans said that no incidents that fit the description of the April 6-8 vandalism spree have been reported since that weekend. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the at (858) 513-2800.
