In a press release issued late Monday, the Sheriff's Department said the man who struggled with the officer told a co-worker he had been drugged and began acting "irrationally." When deputies arrived, the man became agitated and that's when the struggle began.

The man is expected to be charged with assaulting the deputy. The incident remains under investigation.
