Poway Teen Involved in Midland Road Shooting Dies

The Poway High teen who was shot on Nov. 4 has died, according to authorities.

Updated 6:38 p.m. Monday with comment from Poway High's principal.

A Poway teen who was shot on died on Monday, school officials said. 

A  counselor, who said she was contacted by Lucas Lipscomb's mother, confirmed his death. Poway High School Principal Scott Fisher, in an email to Patch, also confirmed that the 17-year-old died early Monday afternoon after surgery.

The announcement prompted somber comments on Facebook. One classmate wrote "I love u man. I'll never forget you" while another classmate wrote "Too soon. Just way too soon. My heart goes out to you and your family. You will forever be in my heart. I love you."

Lipscomb, a junior, was reportedly wounded in the head. According to authorities, Lipscomb was with other teen boys who they .
