UPDATE: Possible Bomb Scare Shuts Down Interstate 15
Traffic is being diverted onto Miramar Road and State Route 52.
Both the north and southbound I-15 is closed at Miramar Way because of police activity, officials say.
A motorist reported the incident to the CHP at around 2:30 p.m., according to the CHP dispatcher.
News 8 is reporting that a motorist stopped his car in lanes on northbound I-15 and told others that he thought there is a bomb in his car. Bomb squad is responding.Both the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego Police Department, who is assisting in the matter, would only confirm that it is a delicate matter.
State Route 163 is also affected by the incident. Northbound traffic is being diverted onto SR-52. Southbound lanes were reopened around 4:15 p.m., according to CalTrans.
