Photo Gallery: Crash Knocks Over Fire Hydrant, Geyser Erupts

Water shot high into the air after a Monday-evening crash involving a fire hydrant.

A hit-and-run crash on Carriage Road and Buckley Street Monday evening sent a torrent of water shooting into the sky from a damaged fire hydrant.

While the driver didn’t stop, a bumper and license plate were left behind after the crash, which happened around 7 p.m.

Water was eventually shut off, but not before a Patch reader took photos that show what happens when cars crash into hydrants.
