Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle on Poway Road

The victim was attempting to cross Poway Road, west of Tarascan, according to the sheriff's department.

A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday with "significant injuries" after being struck by a vehicle in Poway, a sheriff's sergeant said.

The victim was struck while attempting to cross Poway Road, just west of Tarascan Drive, about 9 p.m. Sunday, San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Brian Jenkins in a statement.

There are no traffic lights or crosswalks in the area where the pedestrian was struck, according to the sergeant.

The driver of the vehicle that struck by the pedestrian was cooperating with investigators, he said.
