Motorcyclist Crashes into Stopped Car; Might Have Broken Leg

The 67-year-old motorcyclist was transported to the hospital Thursday morning with a possible broken leg and broken left hand.

A 67-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a line of stopped cars on Twin Peaks Road just before Community Road on Thursday, possibly breaking his left leg and left hand.

The motorcyclist, an Encinitas man on a 2010 Harley Davidson, was heading east on Twin Peaks Road just before 8:30 a.m. when he came upon a line of stopped cars waiting to turn right onto Community Road, according to a San Diego County Sheriff's Department news release.

The man hit his brakes, but crashed into the back of the last car in the line of stopped vehicles, a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, and slid along the south curb line. The female driver of the Pontiac was not injured, but the disoriented motorcylist was taken to Pomerado Hospital for treatment.
