Meadowbrook Middle Student Reports Man Followed Her

Deputies are investigating the claim.

A female student reported that a man followed her Friday morning as she walked to school, but a search of the area ended without finding anyone that matched the man’s description, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

After interviewing the student, it was determined that no kidnapping attempt took place, according to Sgt. Brian Jenkins.

The student said she was walking on a dirt path through a brushy, open area behind the school at 7:32 a.m. when a man appeared out of the bushes and began to follow her, according to Jenkins.

Area parents have been on alert since a Rancho Bernardo High School student walking to school . Jenkins said there is no evidence that the two incidents are related.
