Helicopter Rescues Heat-Exhausted Hiker at Three Sisters Falls

A 28-year-old needed to be treated for heat exhaustion Tuesday in Ramona.

A 28-year-old female hiker needed to be rescued from Three Sisters Falls Tuesday evening after she became overcome with heat exhaustion, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities reported that a helicopter was dispatched to assist the fire department with the distressed hiker around 4 p.m. The woman was found halfway down the trail from the trailhead parking area and was walked to the helicopter. She was flown to a Ramona fire station for medical assistance.

The Sheriff’s Department said the extent of the victim’s injuries are unknown at this time.
