Deputies Still in Search of Poway Man With Felony Bench Warrant

Chad Nichols, 29, failed to show up for a court hearing for a burglary case.

A man with a felony bench warrant who ran away from Sheriff's deputies Thursday afternoon in Poway is still on the loose, the department said.

Chad Nichols, 29, described as white and approximately 5-feet-10-inches, was spotted by deputies at the Poway McDonald's near the intersection of Robison Boulevard and Schaler Drive around 3:18 p.m. on July 11, authorities said. He fled after he was spotted, Sgt. Baker said.

Deputies said they searched for Nichols via helicopter and ground units after he fled, but still haven't located him.

According to Sgt. Baker, Nichols, a Poway resident, was arrested on probable cause of burglary. He was released on bail and failed to show up for his court hearing, resulting in a felony bench warrant.
