Cinco de Mayo DUI Crackdown This Weekend

Officers across the county will be looking for drunken drivers.

Local law enforcement is ramping up DUI patrols this weekend, watching out for Cinco de Mayo celebrants who decide to take the party on the road.

“Buzzed driving is drunk driving, and is never safe or acceptable. So folks should plan ahead now to avoid the temptation on the big day,” Sheriff Bill Gore said in a statement.

"People can still enjoy the holiday and celebrations without putting their lives or the lives of other innocent victims on the line. Party‐goers can call a friend, a cab or use public transportation."
