Burglars Hit 7 Poway Homes; Sheriff's Dept. Asks for Public's Help

After seven residential burglaries in Poway within a month's time, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department is asking for help from the public to identify and locate the suspected burglars.

Detectives said the residential burglaries have taken place between May 8 and June 6. According to authorities, the burglars enter the homes through unlocked windows and, in one case, an unlocked front door. 

Common items that are taken from the homes include jewelry, prescription medications, cash and computer equipment like laptops, e-readers and IPods, detectives said.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the burglaries have occurred on either, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with the highest probability between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

San Diego Crime Stoppers is reminding Poway residents to lock their windows and doors before leaving their homes.

Anyone with information on this case should call the Sheriff’s Department’s Poway station at (858) 513-2800 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580- 8477.
