Poll: Who Is Getting Your Vote in 52nd Congressional District Race?

Ten candidates vie for November runoff slots, including Republican incumbent Brian Bilbray.

A week from now, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, La Jolla and Coronado residents will help decide who will vie for a seat in Congress now held by Republican Brian Bilbray. Five Republicans and three Democrats, plus two without a party preference, are on the ballot in the 52nd Congressional District. A pair will emerge under the new top-two primary system. Who is getting your support June 5? Tell us why in the comments.

Lori all the way! I am voting for her because she has the experience and integrity that is missing, and we NEED, in Washington!

Voters should be aware that Shirley Park has withdrawn from the race (per info on League of Women Voters web site) so a vote for her is a lost vote.

I am voting for Lori Saldana. She has the most experience and is able to take on Bilbray. Money will find her after the primary. I also believe the pension baggage that Peters brings into this race will make him easy pickings for Bilbray, and therefore he is not a good choice for Democrats like me. I also believe that Lori's record shows investments in people and in clean energy policies. This is very pragmatic. She is less beholden to special interests and absolutely committed to middle class interests. Look at her record, not the distractions of this contest.

Lori Saldana is THE candidate of and for The People!.

As a progressive, I will vote for and help elect Saldana. Not to mention, she has a solid background and is authentic and trust worthy. I dont automatically vote for candidates just because they share my gender (Palin comes to mind..) but if they are well qualified, being female is a
Plus - we need more women in elected office. -jennifer douglas, scripps ranch

And btw: write-in solid progressive Joan Little for San Diego city council district 5 as a protest vote. There are no dems running!

This Powegian has already mailed in our ballots. My husband, our best friend, and I all voted for Lori Saldana. I trust that she will serve the people in The People's House. She will do an outstanding job representing us in the things we (the 99%) care about. ~ Judy in Poway

FYI: any write-ins will cause the ballot to be sorted out of the machine for a hand count. I remember that from the Donna Frye write-in election. I don't recommend it because we need our supporters' votes counted on election night.

The poll is not accepting my vote so people should not believe the poll is reflective of the Patch readership here in Coronado. I believe Scott Peters has the ability to win in November and actually accomplish something for his constituents in Washington.

Thanks for the info Don.

You have to vote for people not because they have been in politics forever and apparently not doing a good job but for those who have the real experience wuth real life issues and not so out of touch with reality.

Wow! The Democrats are getting 75% of the poll vote. Based on this highly reliable "un-scientific" poll, Bilbray's days are over.
I'm sure Romney wouldl have the same result on a Huffington Patch Poll., so I'll probably just stay home and not bother to vote.

I'm voting for Wayne Iverson. With so many regulations and so much corruption, we need someone who is mindful of liberty and sincerely strives to restore of freedoms. That's something everyone can agree on.

I will be voting for John Subka. Great ideas and mind and no acception of moneny and/or donations for campaign of any sort.
Kelluke May 31, 2012 at 08:04 pm
Check the link to John Subka's answers, see what he stands for:

The question is where you are going to get funding for the roads and libraries if there is a huge deficit and nobody is working to pay it out of taxes. www.subka4congress.com/wordpress
